AirVenture Aircraft Parking Updates

This report was posted at 8:15 PM on Friday, July 18th, 2025.

Field Status:
Recent great weather at Wittman Regional Airport has left the turf areas used for taxiing and for aircraft camping and parking in general good shape.  A few soft spots in the turf have been marked with traffic cones.  Pilots of heavy aircraft may want to bring plywood squares to place under aircraft wheels.  As always, pilots should remain vigilant when taxiing off of paved surfaces.

General Aviation Camping and Parking Areas:
The Mooney mass arrival group arrived this evening.  When the airport closed tonight, the combined General Aviation Camping Areas were approximately 42% full and the General Aviation Parking areas were approximately 13% full.
General Aviation aircraft are accommodated in camping and parking areas in the "North Forty" and "South Forty" sections of Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH).  These areas were expanded in 2021 and again in 2023.  Arriving pilots should show sign code "GAC" or "GAP" and ground volunteers will provide directions to the most appropriate nearby location.  An optional sign with an "N" or an "S" can also be used in the special case of a pilot requesting to be sent to the north or south area, even if it is not the closest.

Showplane Areas:

Showplane areas accommodate experimentals (homebuilts), warbirds, production aircraft manufactured prior to 1971, ultralights, and amphibian aircraft.  These areas are expected to remain open for the duration of AirVenture 2025.

Next planned update to this page: Noon on Saturday.  Have a great flight!
